Asako Hoichi, NCC, LCPC

Illinois Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
We all want to be listened and understood without being judged or criticized. We want to be accepted as who we are. I believe trust is one of the biggest key components for any human relationships to be able to not only build good relationship but also accept one another. I have been very fortunate to meet all of my clients who trust me to let me into their world, and go through their journey together.
I have been told that counseling is the place for people who are not normal, but I always say what is normal anyway? We are all unique, and different from one another which makes all of us beautiful. Sometimes we all face difficulties. That is the meaning of Life, don’t you think? I believe you are in the driver's seat of your life, and try to drive your car to the right places, but having difficult time going there because of obstacles ahead of you. My job as a counselor is like GPS, and help you to get back on to the right road when you get lost. You are not alone trying to solve the complicated map of your life. We work together to find ways to get to your destination!
